Introduction
Learn how to set up SchedEx for your tenant so that you or the planners in your organization can transfer schedules.
Step 1 – Create a new SchedEx tenant
Follow these instructions for becoming a new SchedEx Tenant and get Tenant Admin role
Step 2 – Install Clients
- Install the Desktop Client
- If you plan to use the Autonomous component or Analytics, ask your Setup Admin to enable it.
- Once enabled use the Installation Center, download any required client artifacts and follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 3 – Manage Visible SchedEx Terms:
In order to make the SchedEx Terms available to your tenant
- Go to Tenant Admin → Content Control, click on Manage visible SchedEx Terms button.
- In the modal, select the SchedEx terms you need and click Save.
Step 4 – Create one or more connectors for data reception
In SchedEx’s Setup → Connectors, click + New Connector.
Choose the Execution component and Host system for your incoming data source.
Fill in the required authentication and path parameters (typically requires input from IT personnel).
Click Create.
Step 5 – Persist your connector(s)
Open the Desktop Client and go to the Connectors tab.
Find each connector you created and click Persist.
This action tells SchedEx which schedules are available and what user-field settings each schedule has.
Step 6 – Create Templates
As setup admin create template by going to Setup → Templates - New Template
Enter a Name and optional Description & Label.
From the list of available SchedEx terms, select those you want included.
For each term you’ve added:
Click the “⋮” menu → Edit content control
Choose Template or Tenant level
(Optional) Enable Allow blanks
When you’re finished, click Save to create the template.
Step 7 – Create sending & receiving configs
In Setup → Configs, click + New Config.
Select the created or received template(s) and your connector.
Select schedule and map SchedEx terms to host fields.
Save the Config.
Step 8 – Collaborate on and activate Exchange Agreement(s) (EAs)
For creating EAs as sender follow instructions given in here.
For filling up EA details as partner follow steps given in here
Once the EA is active initiate transfers using the executing component.
