Abstract

The transfer center is the central place for all your transfers. All the Uploads and Downloads on the ILAP Exchange agreements (IEAs) that you are part of will show up here. In this article, you will read about how the transfer center is organised.

Do you want to know more about using the transfer center? Read the article about monitoring and performing transfers in the transfer center.

The transfer center

The transfer center is the first screen you will see when logging into the ILAP Data Exchange web application. You can navigate here are all times by clicking on the Transfer center in the menu bar in the top of the screen. If you have any actions in the transfer center, you will also see the number of actions in a red notification here. The transfer center is divided into three sections: Scheduled, On-demand and Performed. Per section, you can also see the number of actions you have, in a blue notification.

If you are using the Desktop client as an execute component on one of your IEAs, you will also have Transfer center there. Apart from some exceptions, this works the same way as the one in the web application, but it only includes the transfers going through the Desktop client.

Scheduled transfers

Most IEAs have a frequency (e.g. daily at 12.00), and transfers will be generated following this frequency. The uploads and downloads are scheduled. All relevant scheduled transfers appear in the Scheduled tab in the transfer center. This includes:

  • Upcoming uploads and downloads in the next 6 days (if multiple, up to 3 are shown per IEA)
  • Overdue uploads and missing downloads
  • Failed uploads and downloads

All the transfers with an action for the user will show on top, in order of urgency:

  1. Failed upload of download
  2. Overdue upload or missing download
  3. Pending upload or available download (Desktop client only)
After these, all the transfers without a user action will be shown: the planned uploads and downloads.

On-demand transfers

When the frequency on an IEA has been set to On-demand, no transfers will be generated. Instead, the upload button of the sender will always be available, so they can perform uploads on demand. This is not considered a pending action for the user, and therefore these uploads are not counted in the action counter for this tab. All transfers for IEAs with the On-demand frequency can be found in the On-demand tab. These are sorted in order of urgency:

  1. Failed upload of download
  2. Available download (Desktop client only)
  3. Pending upload (always available)

Performed transfers

Once an upload or download has been performed, whether it be a Scheduled transfer or On-demand transfer, it appears in the performed tab. Here you find a chronological overview of all the uploads and downloads performed by your tenant, on the IEAs that you are a part of. Newly performed transfers appear on top in blue, and are counted in the blue counter for this tab. Once you have seen them, the rows turn white and the counter will reset.

Apart from successfully performed uploads and downloads, also skipped transfers show up here.

Test transfers

Only in the Desktop client, there is an extra tab: Test. Because transfers through the Desktop client need to be done manually, the tests need to be performed in the Transfer center. Test will appear here just like uploads and downloads in the other tabs, the only difference is that they are always pending actions for the user. The tests are sorted in order of urgency:

  1. Failed test
  2. Pending test
