Table of Contents
A template is a list of the ILAP Terms and determines what data will be transferred in an ILAP exchange agreement (IEA). Templates are created and managed by Setup users and can be used for multiple IEAs.
Why do we need a template?
A template defines what data is to be transferred and is therefore a crucial part of the IEA. By defining these data sets, multiple IEAs can quickly be created for similar projects. This reuse of templates also enables the collection comparable data across projects, opening doors for large-scale data analysis.
A template in detail
Templates are created and managed by Setup users, therefore the following information is most relevant to these users. The core of the template is the list of ILAP Terms. Apart from that, the template also has a unique ID, a title and optionally some labels to easily find the right template.

Types of ILAP Terms
Templates can consist of ILAP Terms with three different planning object types: Schedule, Activity and Resources assignment.
Content Control
Many ILAP terms have content control which defines requirements for valid values. If the content control level is set to Template, the requirements can be defined for each individual template using this ILAP term. This is done by the Setup user.
Sharing a template
Templates can be shared with another Tenant. This need to be done in order to create an IEA with that tenant. Setup users use the template to create Configs and with two matching Configs, an IEA can be created.
