Table of contents
Abstract
Content control can be defined on several levels: System, tenant and template. Content control on system level cannot be defined by users of ILAP Data exchange. On Tenant level, the content control is defined by the Tenant Admin user. Finally, the Setup users are the ones to define content control on template level. Both defining content control on tenant and template level are described in this article.
Defining content control on tenant level
NB! This can only be done by users with a Tenant Admin role.
- Open the Content control page
Use the Tenant Admin menu to open the Content control page. In this page you can see all the ILAP Terms. In the last column of the table you can see the content control level. If this is set to system, the Tenant admin cannot change anything. If it is set to Tenant or Template, the Tenant admin can change the content control level between the two. When set to Template, the content control is delegated to the Setup users that will be able to define the content control for each template individually. When set to Tenant, the content control can be defined by the Tenant admin and will be effective for the ILAP term for everyone in within the tenant. Click on the row of the ILAP term to define the content control.

- Go into edit mode
On the ILAP term page, you can view information about the ILAP Term. If the content control level is set to Tenant or Template, it can also be changed between the two here. If the ILAP Term already has content control, valid values can be viewed in the table. To add or change content control, open the “Options” menu in the top right and click “Edit”.

- Edit content control
In edit mode, the Tenant admin can change a few options. First, content control can be turn on and off. When turned off, the rest of the options disappear as any received value for this ILAP Term will be accepted. When turned on, more options are available. The next option is “Allows blanks” and can be turned on or off. This defines whether no value (a blank) is accepted, or will return an error. If the table contains values, they can be edited in the text fields alongside the descriptions of the values. Finally, valid values can be added. This can be done in two ways. Clicking “Single value” will add a new row to the table for which the value and description can be added through the text box. When clicking “Upload in bulk” a new pop-up window opens where big data sets of values can be imported.

- Upload values in bulk
In the pop-up window, values can be typed or pasted in the text box. Each line in the text box contains a value and a description, separated by a semicolon and the two cannot contain internal semicolons. Before submitting, it is possible to preview the input with the toggle in the top right of the text box. Click “Submit” to add the values to the ILAP Term.
